Dave Alexander, or "Zander," was only 27 when he died of pulmonary edema linked to his drinking. According to some, he'd been drinking heavily since he was a kid. As Iggy put it in 'I Need More,' "Dave was from this little hamlet of about 150 people, and it used to produce these really degenerate kids. By the time he was 12, he was on glue and Romilar and Seconals too, I think, God knows what he was on. He was always on something bad, and had to be at all times." Like the Ashetons, Alexander was a complete autodidact who fell into playing bass by unplanned circumstance. Now, his place in rock ' roll history is practically invisible. Go ahead, Google him; you'll find plenty of people saying things about him, but barely one word quoted from his mouth.

"There is certainly something of the psychedelic here, but it is not organic. It is a lab-manufactured psychedelia, but no less sensorially engaging for being so." The WIRE, August 2016.
